Scripts, executables and misleading extensions are flagged, with a short explanation of why each one deserves a second look.
Path traversal entries and symlinks are never extracted, so an archive cannot write outside the folder you picked.
Extraction uses a staging area and checks paths. Results explain skipped entries; review them before assuming every file was extracted.
Password-protected archives are clearly labelled. Encrypted filenames need a password before they can be listed; limited visibility is explained.
Drop files and folders in, choose ZIP, 7z or TAR.GZ, and create. An existing archive is only replaced once the new one has been written successfully.
Protect ZIP and 7z archives with AES-256 encryption. With 7z you can encrypt the file names too, so the contents list stays private.
__MACOSX folders, .DS_Store and other Mac-only metadata are left out of the archives you create, and skipped in the ones you extract.
Drag and drop, an Extract with CozyZip item in Finder's right-click menu, and a recents list.
